apibrėžtis Reljefo ir vietinių daiktų savybės, silpninančios NP poveikį. Geriausias apsaugines savybes turi kalvota, slėniais, daubomis, grioviais išraižyta vietovė, pvz., priešinguose (nuo branduolinio sprogimo centro) aukštumos šlaituose smūgio bangos slėgis gali būti 2–2,5 kartų mažesnis negu lygumoje. Reljefo nelygumai ekranuoja branduolinio sprogimo šviesos spinduliuotę ir pirminę radioaktyviąją spinduliuotę. Miškai slopina smūgio bangą ne mažiau kaip 2 kartus, šviesos spinduliuotę – 6–8 kartus.
